Had a wonderful visit to Knole House yesterday. A lovely early 17th century house undergoing conservation work. We got a tour up the scaffolding to the rooves, surreal and superb to see the bones of the house up close. The National Trust have some real gems in their care. The staff, as usual in the Trust, really care about their house in a very passionate way. Oh, and there are loads of deer in the park, wonderful!
