Digital engagement in archaeology

Just had a wonderful two days at our CASPAR conference on digital engagement in archaeology. Great organisation of the event by Chaira Bonacchi, Dan Pett and Lorna Richardson and others.  A lot of speakers, with really stimulating presentations. There were many interesting issues to discuss: the nature of the technologies we use and their ecosystems, the role of the digital embedded in wider forms of engagement, the nature of engagement (what do we mean by the word?), who are we reaching and what do they gain from us, why are we using digital technologies? and the need for a better understanding of theoretical underpinnings of what we are seeking to achieve – and many other good points raised by the 80+ people who attended over the two days.

I now also have a shopping list of things that CASPAR could be doing over the next year. Now I only need to find some funding to achieve it all!
