Back home

Home after a good EAA conference in Helsinki. A well organised conference with some good papers and sessions. Our own session was packed – around 60 people in a small room, good papers and good discussion. I went to sessions on Neolithic demographics, archaeological narratives and on Palaeolithic/Mesolithic lithics. Well worth going, even if very expensive. With 1200 archaeologists there it was hard to get to meet everyone I knew but got round most people and made some new friends as well. There is a lot of good archaeology going on outside the UK. British archaeologists really do need to get out more.
